A+ Keynote Certified Network
Once the integration of live and on demand streaming to a web site is completed, the challenge becomes the consistency and performance of delivering those streams. Your streaming provider must be able to quickly and consistently deliver your media to end users, and ensure a high quality end user experience. After all, problems with throughput and rebuffering reflect badly on your company, not on your anonymous streaming provider.
UpStream Networks contracted Keynote Systems, the leading Internet performance testing company, to test our ability to host streams through Windows Media 9 Series server and deliver them with consistently high quality. The Keynote Systems test is designed to ensure robust and fast content delivery.
The Streaming Test
End viewers don’t access your streams from inside our data center. Your streams are accessed from multiple Internet backbones from geographically dispersed locations, which is why Keynote Systems tested our network from 13 metropolitan areas on 3 continents.
Keynote Systems measured our 10 stream URLs at a frequency of 20 times per day. Over a 30-day period, UpStream Networks posted no outages and achieved a “frustration time” A+ grade. “Frustration time” is a Keynote term that refers to the time an end user spends waiting for the stream to connect and buffer before playback begins. In order to achieve an A+, the “frustration time” must be less than six seconds and there cannot be any outages. UpStream Networks' A+ Certification from Keynote Systems ensures consistent high-quality stream hosting and delivery.
